It’s International Self-esteem and Confidence month and we at SupportPay want to help you make the most of it. It is a great time to take stock of our own confidence levels and see where we can use a boost. As a single parent working hard through covid, I see you! So, if you’re going through a divorce, or recently went through one, or…actually if you’re going through any challenge at all, these four confidence boosters always help me feel better right away, and I hope they work just as well for you.
Tips to gain confidence in your day
Here are my four can’t-miss confidence boosters.
Number one: get out in the fresh air! Science actually has proven that sunlight and movement are two of the best medicines to fight stress. If you need a stylish way to remind yourself to get out and take a walk a few times per day, I recommend a smartwatch. Most of the time, I wear a children’s Fitbit because I have a small wrist and I tend to lose things. But, when I want to go boujee, I wear this gorgeous rose gold Michael Kors smartwatch to remind me breathe some fresh air, get some sun on my face and move around a little. My favorite men’s smart watch, (or for ladies that like to wear men’s watches) is this one from Suunto. Suunto, a scuba gear company, combines functionality, design, and luxury. This watch gets you into a luxury brand at a pretty low price point, and it is a rugged, stylish reminder to get some sunlight.
Number two: throw on a little eye cream. Khiels, a cult favorite, and one of my personal faves, works well on every skin type, has an extremely light scent, and always makes me feel better with just a couple dabs. That was easy.
Number 3: get some rest. As an intractable insomniac who has tried every trick in the book to get a good night’s sleep, one of my die-hard strategies when things get tough is to buy a new set of luxurious sheets. Check out Egyptian, Portuguese, or Supima cotton. All will help you give your bed a fresh slate, and they’re so crisp and cool that climbing into the sheets is immediately relaxing.
Number four: write it out. There are a lot of books that can help us become confident and boost our self-esteem, but something that works well for me is to work through trauma that I’m holding onto. This is one of my favorite books for helping me visualize and let go of trauma that I have been carrying. After a few minutes of this journal, I immediately feel lighter, happier and uplifted.
Whether you choose one, or all four, incorporate these simple confidence boosters for a quick lift when you’re going through a rough time. Here are the links – we hope you enjoy!
