The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES)

“makes Arizona stronger by helping Arizonans reach their potential through temporary assistance for those in need, and care for the vulnerable. Our work must continually demonstrate these values every day, through our interactions with the public and our fellow colleagues as we focus on building the capacity of the people we serve.” — DES

Overview

If you are a parent living in Arizona, you may be wondering how child support works in this state. Child support is primarily the responsibility of the non-custodial parent, and is typically paid to the custodial parent in order to help cover the costs of raising a child. In Arizona, child support payments are generally calculated based on the income of both parents and the number of children involved.

If you are owed child support but have not been receiving payments, there are a few things you can do. First, you can try to work out an agreement with the other parent. If that is not possible, you can contact the Arizona Department of Economic Security. The DES can help you locate the other parent, set up a payment plan, and if necessary, take legal action to enforce the child support order.

Are Your Additional Expenses Being Managed?

Did you know that state systems only manage base child support payments & do not provide a way for parents to manage transactions & make payments for additional child expenses such as medical, education, child care or any other child-related expenses? Even if you have your base payments coming thru the state you need a solution to manage, track & pay all your child expenses – while providing a complete history & record.

SupportPay was built to help parents manage all child support & expenses while working with state payment systems.
