SupportPay Questions

SupportPay Is:

  • A tool for families to split, track, and manage shared family expenses—no government or middleman involved.

  • A way to eliminate the guesswork (and the arguments) with shared receipts, schedules, and payment tracking.

  • Full transparency so everyone knows where money is going, with records to back it up.

  • A peacekeeping tool for parents, caregivers, and family members who want to talk about their loved ones—not argue about money.

SupportPay Is Not:

  • A child support calculator—we link to your state’s tools for that and provide a calculator that you can use.

  • A government-run system—we help you work outside or alongside state support agencies.

  • A child support enforcement agency—we don’t chase anyone down, but we do arm you with certified records in case you ever need to.

  • A legal authority—we’re not a lawyer, judge, or mediator. We organize your financial records so they can do their job faster.

Revolutionizing Modern Family Finances.

We are riding the gap in personal finance – when money spans households or bank accounts. When family members need to split, track, and share financial information, schedules, and communications but keep the rest of their financial life private.

It ends family fights over money by simplifying the time consuming, conflict ridden and stressful process of splitting, tracking and sharing expenses, payments, schedules, communications.

Nope. It works best when everyone joins in, but it’s still powerful for one. You can track and manage your end, even if others aren’t on board yet.

Not at all. Only one person needs a paid plan. Everyone else can use the free lite version—because sharing expenses shouldn’t require everyone to pull out their wallets just to get started.

Today we support bank invitations from US banks and ACH between US banks but we will be expanding soon.

While there are no direct competitors to SupportPay – our biggest competitors are all of the individual applications, manual processes, data living in a bunch of different places. Anywhere from tracking in a notebook, to spreadsheets, text messages, emails, etc.

Here’s why SupportPay is built for more than just sending money:

  • No receipts or records: Venmo and Zelle don’t offer itemized receipts or exportable history. So good luck at tax time… or in court.
  • Only tracks one-to-one payments: If you’re trying to stay on top of who paid what and when—it’s manual, messy, and easy to miss.
  • No recurring payments (Venmo): You’ll have to remember to send that support or reimbursement every. single. month.
  • No way to dispute charges: Sent the wrong amount or didn’t get paid back? Tough luck.

SupportPay does it all: We let you record any payment—Venmo, Zelle, checks, you name it—and even attach receipts or screenshots, so everything is tracked in one place.

Not really. It feels instant… until you actually try to use the money.

  • Venmo-to-Venmo is quick, sure—but transferring that money to your bank account? That’s standard ACH, which takes 5–7 business days unless you pay a fee for instant transfer.

  • SupportPay uses direct ACH transfers between bank accounts, typically landing in 3 business days—without extra fees.

So in the end, SupportPay is just as fast (and often faster)—plus, we give you full tracking, receipts, and dispute protection.

We offer flexible payment options because life is rarely one-size-fits-all.

1. Record Manual Payments

Pay with cash? Venmo? Carrier pigeon with a debit card? No problem. You can manually log any payment and even upload a receipt or screenshot, so everything stays documented in one place.

2. SupportPay Payments

  • Bank-to-bank transfers: Connect your bank account securely. If the other party connects theirs too, we process a direct ACH transfer between accounts—simple, secure, and done in about 3 business days.

  • They’re not connected? No worries. You can still send:

    • A digital check (yep, that’s a thing)

    • Or a good old-fashioned physical check (we mail it for you)

No jumping between apps. No missed payments. Just one place to manage it all—minus the drama.

It’s a game-changer. SupportPay is the only platform that offers shared bill payment.

Here’s how it works:

  • You upload a bill—like daycare, medical, or care-home fees.

  • Each family member can pay their share directly to the service provider—no middleman, no waiting on reimbursements, no awkward reminders.

It’s transparent, trackable, and way less stressful. Because sharing expenses shouldn’t require one person to be the bill collector.

Because when it comes to legal, financial, and tax matters, screenshots and spreadsheets just don’t cut it.

SupportPay provides certified, court-admissible records—complete with receipts, timestamps, and detailed payment history. This matters in situations like:

  • Court proceedings: Child support, custody modifications, or probate cases

  • Power of attorney & financial executors: Required to show exactly how money is spent, often with receipts

  • Trusts & caregiving: Managing money for someone else? You’ll need solid documentation

  • Taxes: For deductions like medical expenses, alimony, or the dependent care credit, certified records help you qualify—and protect you in case of an audit

  • Alimony audits: It’s the IRS’s favorite red flag. If the payer claims it as a deduction but the recipient doesn’t report it, things can get messy fast

Even HSA and Dependent Care FSA reimbursements often require official documentation.

Bottom line: SupportPay keeps your records airtight, so you’re covered—whether you’re in court, under audit, or just need peace of mind.
